Houston Rockets GM Daryl Morey is quite the outspoken NBA executive and he’s not shy about it at all. You have to respect the way he goes about his business. He’s not shy and he’ll tell you how it is, always. Morey starts off his recent conversation with a local Houston radio station on a strong note, ripping the NCAA and how they go about their business. He doesn’t see the sense in a lot of things that the NCAA does concerning their gameplay, hiring coaches and staff members.
He talks about James Harden for MVP again and essentially tells everyone that the award is Harden’s to lose. As usual, Morey has some statistics to back it up. The Houston GM gives a small update on the injuries of Patrick Beverley and Terrence Jones and finally denies all rumors about overseas prospect Sergio Llull and the lucrative contract he was reportedly offered.
Following from CBS Houston’s ‘Mad Radio’.
Morey is right about a most of the things he talks about in this clip. The one thing Morey and I might not agree on is that Harden doesn’t have the MVP locked up. There are a few guys like Stephen Curry and Russell Westbrook that do have a case so there is no clear cut winner quite yet.
Sergio Llull is a talent that we will see in the NBA soon, that’s for sure but not anytime soon and not with the insane 3 year, $17 million dollar contract that some said he was getting.
Morey takes some shots and doesn’t hold back and you can’t hate him for that.
