Rockets Agree To Deal With Kings For Jason Terry
The Sacramento Kings have agreed to a deal in principle to send Jason Terry to the Houston Rockets, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports. The Rockets will also reportedly send Alonzo Gee along with non-guaranteed contracts that the Kings can ultimately waive to create roster and salary space. Sacramento will also send two second-round draft picks to Houston along with Terry.
Terry, 36, helps Houston’s much needed depth and brings a veteran, championship acumen to the roster. Terry won a title with the Dallas Mavericks in 2006 where he played eight seasons. Houston lost Chandler Parsons to Dallas in free agency this summer as the mid-Texas rivalry continues to grow.
The Kings acquired Terry from the Brooklyn Nets in a Marcus Thornton deal at the trade deadline, but dropped his expiring $5.4 million deal, dare I say, to possibly have more space in hopes of a Rajon Rondo trade. The Kings’ realistic pursuit of Rondo remains speculation, but their interest seems real.
