Phoenix Suns majority owner Robert Sarver has no intention of selling the franchise, he told Scott Bordow of azcentral:
“There’s zero accuracy to that story,” Sarver said. “Zero. I have zero interest in selling.”
This comes on the heels of Washington Post writer Tim Bontemps writing that there are “rumblings” that Sarver is looking to sell.
Sarver bought the Suns in 2004 for a then-record $401 million.
In Oct. 2016, ESPN voted Sarver as the worst owner in the NBA.
Sarver’s net worth is valued at $400 million.
The Suns are a mess right now. Their best player, Eric Bledsoe, doesn’t want to be there, and they’ve sent him home. So now, while they try to work out a trade, they’re paying Bledsoe to sit on his couch.
Oh, yeah, they also fired head coach Earl Watson just three games into the season.
Phoenix has some young talent in guys like Devin Booker, Josh Jackson, Marquese Chriss, Dragan Bender, TJ Warren and Tyler Ulis. Maybe some of those guys will end up being good! That’s about all the Suns have going for them right now.
