It looks like after a long search for a new cinematic Batman, Matt Reeves has found his man (or vampire). Robert Pattinson will play Bruce Wayne aka Batman in Matt Reeves film adaptation of the DC comics superhero. The actor is mostly known for playing the infamous vampire-lover in the Twilight series, Edward Cullen.
The Caped Crusader is a vampire?
Per Variety:
Sources tell Variety that Robert Pattinson is in negotiations to play “The Batman” in Matt Reeves’ forthcoming superhero film, which hits theaters June 25, 2021.
While sources say it’s not yet a done deal, Pattinson is the top choice and it’s expected to close shortly. Warner Bros. had no comment.
Pre-production on the Warner Bros.-DC Comics pic is expected to start this summer.
The internet has already exploded regarding the casting, even though it’s not a done deal. While some will argue for or against the casting, Pattinson is more than just a romantic vampire looking actor. He was phenomenal in ‘Remember Me’ and ‘Life’ and should be credited for more than just the blockbuster hit.
If cast, Pattinson would be the youngest casted Batman ever so he would fit the build that Planet of the Apes director Matt Reeves was looking for.
