More good news continues to pour in for Rihanna and her loyal legion of fans. On Wednesday, after what came as an unprecedented leak via Tidal, word spread that Rihanna’s 8th studio would be arriving much sooner than any of us could have anticipated. With the debut of her new single, ‘Work,’ happening earlier in the day, the momentum was on her side. Apart of the album being exclusive to Tidal for streaming for a week, Rihanna and the streaming service allowed for fans to download a copy of the album for free. After tweeting about 1 million downloads of the album taking place, the singer has more to celebrate as ANTI becomes Rihanna’s most recent certified platinum album merely days after its release.

If anyone seems confused as to just how this happened so quickly, this is largely in part to Samsung purchasing copies of the album, which then allowed for those copies to be downloaded for free via Tidal. In anything it was a strategic and efficient move that allowed many to believe that the album was indeed a “free” album. Nevertheless, congratulations are definitely in order for the singer as things are only getting started for the ANTI era.
