In 2015, Rihanna has had to break some sort of record for the amount of magazine covers she’s landed. With more than 2 months left in the year, there’s possibly more to come. For now, Rihanna is back with another beautifully shot cover and spread for Vanity Fair’s November issue. Shot in Cuba, Rihanna channels the essence of the culture all while bringing the spicy flair that the ‘We Found Love’ hit-maker is known for. Covering a wide range of topics, Rihanna didn’t leave any stones unturned as she touched on everything from Rachel Dolezal to domestic violence.
And she talks about Rachel Dolezal, the white N.A.A.C.P. executive who pretended to be black, saying, “I think she was a bit of a hero, because she kind of flipped on society a little bit. Is it such a horrible thing that she pretended to be black? Black is a great thing, and I think she legit changed people’s perspective a bit and woke people up.”
And after Rihanna’s highly publicized domestic violence moment with Chris Brown, here’s an excerpt on her current thoughts:
But, for me, and anyone who’s been a victim of domestic abuse, nobody wants to even remember it. Nobody even wants to admit it.
One of Ms. Fenty’s greatest qualities is the honesty and rawness she conveys in interviews. Those traits are just one of many reasons why her career has continued to flourish over the years. As she continues to work on her long-awaited 8th studio album, fans can add just another magazine cover to their ever-growing 2015 collection. Peep the full cover story and more from the spread, here.
