Can you believe it’s been 10 years since the debut of the Bajan-beauty, Rihanna? On August 30, 2005, Rihanna released her debut album, Music Of The Sun, and hasn’t looked back since. Since then, the singer has went on to release 6 additional albums that displays one of Rihanna’s best attributes, her versatility. Easily being able to switch looks and sounds at the drop of a dime, it isn’t hard to believe that Robyn Fenty has stood the test of time. Speaking with the Associated Press during the launch of her new ‘Ri Ri’ perfume in Brooklyn, NY today, Rihanna touched on plans of celebrating this milestone, along with the status of her upcoming 8th studio album.
“Definitely a very big deal for me. You know, I can’t believe it’s 10 years already, but we definitely have to celebrate this year,” the singer said during an interview Monday. “There are a few things I have in mind, so you’ll have wait on that, but don’t think I’m forgetting because this means a lot to me that I made it to 10 years.”
“New album is going really, really great. We have recorded a lot of songs and I can’t wait to finish and put it out. That’s my next step,” she said.
We can only assume that the celebration will coincide with the release of her highly anticipated LP. Nevertheless, this is surely a big accomplishment for ‘Umbrella’ singer and her many fans that have grown with her through the years.
