Blessed with a career that has went on to produce many accolades and accomplishments all across the board, Rihanna, who is 8 albums into her music career, is still winning in every shape and form. Being the chameleon that she is, Rihanna has had her hands in almost every arena imaginable, but some of her biggest looks comes from her unique fashion and the work of her own in the fashion world. Because of that, Rihanna is the latest person to be selected by the Parsons School of Design to be honored, as reported by NyMag.com.
In a statement shared by Parsons, it looks to be that they are more than happy to recognize the “Consideration” singer at their 69th annual benefit.
“Parsons is proud to present Rihanna with this honor, as she has inspired millions through her powerful music and distinct style,” said Joel Towers, the school’s executive dean, in a statement. “She has championed our recent alumni on a number of occasions by wearing their designs. She is also creating important philanthropic programs, which support communities by fostering effective education, health, and emergency response programs around the world through her Clara Lionel Foundation.”
Contributing a statement, herself, Rihanna is just as pleased with the upcoming honor.
“It’s such a thrill to know that a design school as prestigious as Parsons School of Design would present me with this honor,” Rihanna said in the statement. “I consistently find creative and exciting designs coming from Parsons alumni, so I feel a deep connection to the school. But I am especially grateful that Parsons would recognize me for the work I’ve done in regards to philanthropy.”
In great company, Ms. Fenty is surely deserving. As with most artists, this will only fuel the star to do bigger and better things in the many years to come. Taking place on May 22 at Pier 60, congratulations to Rihanna!
