It may feel like we may never get another Rihanna album, but sometimes it just takes patience. Frank Ocean made fans wait four years to get Blonde. Brandy took an eight year break before dropping B7. Not to mention, Jay Electronica made us wait a decade for his joint album with Jay-Z. Greatness just takes time, but it would be hard to say that it never feels like she’s retired from music. Luckily, the best-selling artist has assured fans that that is not the case. She’s just taking her time.
“I am always working on music,” she told Entertainment Tonight Online‘s Rachel Smith.
“I am always working on music and when I am ready to put it out in the way that I feel fit, it’s gonna come out. And you’re not going to be disappointed when it happens. It’s going to be worth it,” she added.
In her defense, Rihanna has come out to release new music here and there. She offered DJ Khaled “Wild Thoughts” in 2017. More recently, she hopped on PartyMobile.
Maybe the next album will come next year. Only one can hope.
