At the moment, it would seem as if Rihanna has a lot on her plate that will keep her more than busy for the upcoming months ahead. With the release of her eighth studio album, ANTI, back in January, it’s been pedal to the metal status as the singer has been focused on almost everything imaginable surrounding the album. Fresh off of kicking off her “ANTI World Tour” in Florida merely days ago, there’s some good news attached to the singer as BET is set to honor the Pop star during their upcoming annual Black Girls Rock!” award show.
Airing on April 5 via BET, the “Black Girls Rock!” event will see Rihanna being honored and receiving the “Rock Star Award.” Very fitting, indeed, if there’s one thing that we’ve learned over the course of Rihanna’s career, it’s that she moves to the beat of her own drum in many areas of her life. With the ANTI‘s lead single, ‘Work,’ current sitting atop of Billboard’s Hot 100 while ANTI remains as a Top 5 album in the country, Rihanna is collecting wins all across the board. Definitely being an honor, if there was anyone 100% deserving of the award, BET got it right with Rihanna.
