These days, Rihanna can be found hitting city after city in support of her eighth studio album, ANTI. Topping the charts with the album and her smash single, ‘Work,’ Rihanna is undoubtedly on a nice winning streak for the moment. While she’s surely busy and occupied with other matters, Rihanna hasn’t forgotten the importance of giving back. It has been announced today that the singer has officially launched a new international and U.S. college scholarship program to help students embarking on the journey of higher education.
Providinng a statement to USA Today, Rihanna notes the importance of higher education.
“To be able to give the gift of an education is actually an honor,” says Rihanna. “Higher education will help provide perspective, opportunities and learning to a group of kids who really deserve it. I am thrilled to be able to do this.”
The opportunity is available to students who are enrolled in a 4 year college during the 2016 – 2017 school year, and even better, the scholarships will range from $5,000 – $50,000.
