Cleveland Cavaliers outspoken reserve forward Richard Jefferson is not one to shy from controversy. The 16-year veteran who has been to four NBA Finals, two with the New Jersey Nets in the early 2000’s and the last two with the Cleveland Cavaliers. He plays an important role on this Cavs team. He’s a good locker room presence and we’ve seen flashes of him playing almost like he once did during his prime, some big dunks also included at times.
During game four of the 2017 NBA Finals, he played a 2017 NBA Playoffs personal high of 22 minutes and scored eight points. But defensively, Richard Jefferson showed his value in the Cavaliers home win.
With the Cavs backs against the wall for the remainder of the season, they need to do all they can to survive and extend their season as long as possible. Once game seven hits, as we all know, all bets are off. Richard Jefferson seemingly knows that as well and following the Cavs win on Friday night, he declared that if the Cavs win game five, the series will go seven games.
Here’s Richard Jefferson talking about his declaration.
"If we win Game 5, we're going to go to 7."
