Report: Blake Griffin Healing Fractured Back
Los Angeles Clippers forward Blake Griffin recently backed out from Team USA training camp for the FIBA World Cup. His reasoning was due to his desire to use this offseason to prepare for the upcoming NBA season, but ESPN’s Ramona Shelburne reports that Griffin is also tending to a back fracture.
Doctors advised Griffin to sit out of international competition and expect him to make a full recovery by the start of the NBA season.
Griffin, Kevin Love, and Russell Westbrook all withdrew from USA training camp last week. Paul Millsap was brought in to fill the front court void left by Love and Griffin. Without Griffin’s (and Love’s) services, expect to see even smaller, faster, more guard-oriented line ups than already expected.
