Regina King will reportedly star alongside actors Austin Butler and Zoë Kravitz in Darren Aronofsky’s thriller Caught Stealing. Details regarding King’s role are not available just yet. However, Butler will play the role of Hank Thompson, who is described as a “burned-out former baseball player…unwittingly plunged into a wild fight for survival in the downtown criminal underworld of ’90s NYC.”
King is no stranger to sports-centered films. In 2020, she made her feature film directorial debut with One Night Miami. Starring Leslie Odom Jr., Aldis Hodge, Eli Goree and Kingsley Ben-Adir, the film told the story of an “incredible night where icons Muhammad Ali, Malcolm X, Sam Cooke, and Jim Brown gathered [to discuss] their roles in the Civil Rights Movement and cultural upheaval of the 60s.” As an actress, she’s gravitated toward a wide variety of roles this decade, starring The Harder They Fall, Shirley and Flag Day. Not to mention, she’s producing two TV series — The Comedown and Forever — at the moment.
As of now, Kravitz, King and Butler are the only three stars attached to the project while it resides in the pre-production phase. Charlie Houston, best known writing Gotham for FOX, is the scribe for the film.
