Summer is a time to let your hair down and be free to explore that the world has to offer. Unfortunately, exploring the world, enjoying a good day party or drinking endless amounts of mimosas can be difficult if you’re dealing with heartbreak. Trust me, I’ve been there. You’ve probably been there. We’ve all been there. Summer is the worst time to try to rekindle an old flame that came at the wrong time. Still, it’s hard not to try. Fortunately, PG County’s Reggie Becton has provided the perfect soundtrack as we all try to deal with these complicated emotions.
Months after dropping California, it looks like Reggie Becton is back and ready to go with his new single, “Call.” Powered by a guitar-heavy production, the rising R&B singer talks about longing for a relationship that is long gone.
“Now, everything is different. [These are the] side effects of loving with no intentions. [I have] no regrets, but tell me where my friend went. A part of me is missing,” he sings.
Much like “Depresshun” from the aforementioned album, California, Reggie Becton shows once again that he can identify the perfect rapper to accompany his voice. This time around, Nana comes through with an Andre 3000 like rhyme pattern that seamlessly fits into the track.
“One day, I’ll get the message/Hold on, it’s coming back/Memories associated with images all attached/You’re with your newest n*gga. I used to be all in that/From touching heaven’s skies, it seems I’ve fallen flat,” he raps.
Reggie Becton has been teasing unreleased music on Instagram and TikTok over the last few months and it seems that he has elevated to new heights as an artist. If “Call” is any indication of what’s to come, Reggie Becton will soon be headlining his own tour. Check out the track below.
