The Oklahoma City Thunder have faced an uphill battle all season long and Wednesday that battle continued against The Utah Jazz. Oklahoma City entered Wednesdays game at the record of 3-8 and they came out firing like a team determined to turn things around. Jeremy Lamb had 7 of The Thunders first 9 points from the field and after that it was a disastrous night for him going 5/15 from the field. Oklahoma City had the lead for the whole first half and a big lead of 17 points in the first half which Utah fought back to get The Thunder down to a 2 point deficit.
The Utah Jazz displayed some good team defense, and were very efficient while making their coming back. Gordon Hayward shockingly wasn’t as much of a factor as he usually is on a night to night basis only scoring 13 points on 4/11 shooting. As the game progressed it became more difficult for Oklahoma City to score and to say the offense struggled would be a understatement. Oklahoma City had no problem getting the open looks they wanted, but the shots just were not falling.
Utah pushed their lead in the second half to 72-59 in the third quarter and they never did give that lead up. The turnaround for Utah happened after a fired up Quin Snyder, and he had steam coming from his ears at one point.
The Jazz displayed their all around talent with Trey Burke scoring 17 points with 9 assists which provided a nice one two punch rotation with Dante Exum coming off the bench. Enes Kanter looked very active and the box score shows with 16 points and 15 rebounds and he looked very confident shooting from 15 feet or on the block.
Oklahoma City struggled from the field shooting 34% with Steven Adams and Kendrick Perkins the only players to make half of their shot attempts.
The Utah Jazz move to 5-7 and face Golden State on Friday.
The Oklahoma City Thunder after tonights game start off 3-9 and visit Denver on Wednesday.
