RECAP: Rockets Overpower Timberwolves 113-101
In Wednesday night’s NBA Global Games special in Mexico City, the Houston Rockets defeated the Minnesota Timberwolves 113-101. James Harden led Houston with 23 points and 10 assists. Dwight Howard added 22 points and 10 rebounds. Corey Brewer had a team-high 18 points for the Timberwolves.
The Rockets shot 13-for-28 from the three-point line (46%). They are now the first team in NBA history to make at least 10 three-pointers in each of their first eight games of the season.
Houston was only up by 4 at the half and started to created their separation in the third quarter where they earned a 31-21 advantage. Minnesota is without Ricky Rubio who is out with an ankle injury and had this year’s no. 1 overall draft pick Andrew Wiggins in foul trouble early in the second half. Wiggins finished with 15 points.
Houston is now 7-1 and Minnesota falls to 2-5 on the season.
