Faith in basketball is restored. I guess? Derrick Rose and Pau Gasol were back in the lineup tonight for the Chicago Bulls as they helped pull through and win against the Utah Jazz 97-95. Derrick Rose had 18 points, Jimmy Butler added 25 points, and Pau Gasol added 23 points to put the Utah Jazz away. The Utah Jazz were up with 40 seconds left, and the Bulls missed a shot. The Jazz got the ball stolen by Jimmy Butler, and he missed a layup but Mike Dunleavy was there for the tip-in to put the Chicago Bulls up 1 with 20 seconds left. Gordan Hayward misses the jump shot with time expiring, to make the bulls prevail in this one.
Analysis: FINALLY. The Chicago Bulls are back. But how long is it going to last until another Derrick Rose injury happens? IF and only IF, Derrick Rose can stay healthy and Jimmy Butler continues being the most improved player in the NBA. The Chicago Bulls will be in the Finals in late June. No Doubt. Let’s hope that will happen.
From the Utah Jazz perspective, have you noticed that they have actually been pretty good? No no not even close to making western conference playoffs, but for a team with virtually a bunch of young talented players they have made some good games with competing teams like Chicago and Cleveland. Maybe with some moves and some more leadership and talent, Utah can be good soon.
