Powerful fight within the confines of words
The main event off of Rare Breed Entertainment’s Blood Sweat & Tiers 2 has finally been released and did MORE than live up to the hype. Daylyt vs Ooops. If you want to see the spotlight video, and hear RBE’s editing team clip the reactions of fans after the battle, click here. Is this the battle that will push RBE into the elite class and wanting top battlers to come bless their stage? We’ll see within the upcoming weeks.
“I am Spawn.”
If you’re not a fan of Daylyt because of the amount of trolling he did/does, this battle will help you appreciate what he has done and is doing for battle rap. Daylyt has never revealed who Davone Campbell, which is his real name, was to the world. Everyone knows how great he can really be but the path he has taken is one that everyone questions. Everyone else has “paid their dues” as battlers but he has taken a different approach through various antics that has gotten him the spotlight he has received from the world. From wearing the infamous kkk outfit to taking a “boo boo in the desert,” he has garnered a following, without the push of the URL, that most battlers dream about. Too bad dreams only happen when you’re sleep…
“Dot Mob hit the Lotto…”
Step into the world of Rapper Davone Campbell. A “real nigga” who’s third round was ground breaking. Even though this type of third round is starting to become parasitical, only a few select of battlers can pull it off with having intricate bars weaved into it or enough clout to have the crowd to listen up. Being his first appearance on RBE, Daylyt understood the type of material he needed to have a classic performance on this stage, especially against Ooops. It is starting to appear as if Daylyt crafts his material/performances around how each stage is presented to the masses and takes into consideration what each opponent has done in the past. Whether you have put on great performances, on big stages, with straight bars, he’ll hit you with an antic (against B-magic), or you’re considered the best all around battler in the world, he’ll go bar 4 bar with you (Charlie Clips and Aye Verb). He has been gunning for a match up with Lux in the past year and after this performance, we think he is inching much closer to that headline. Well Ooops, we have all wondered what is Daylyt’s life like.
Message…
“Fuck walking in your shoes he couldn’t even handle the sound bytes”
Well known around the Midwest, Ooops is finally becoming a force in battle rap. Being RBE’s top gunner (Showoff would say otherwise), I guess you can say Daylyt gave him a shot, as they are both members of writers bloque. Ooops, in his biggest battle to date, did not shy away from this moment just like how he attempted to put O-Red in a coffin on Blood Sweat & Tiers 1. So Daylyt already knew what Ooops is capable of, causing the pen of each battler to turn into a Quill. Effortlessly piecing his poem, Ooops never lacks composure which speaks volumes to his confidence in his abilities to move a crowd. Being considered a clone of Yung ill, Ooops continously proves that his talents are different from his fellow St. Louis native.
“Take it home Ooops”
Ooops never portrays himself as a someone who is fabricated. When what is real spills over into your work, that is how you know a job isn’t a job anymore. You can tell the difference between one who battles for money and one who does it for the love. Only time will tell if Ooops can survive under the spotlight of being considered a great battler. But when you’re out in the middle of a battle within the city of St. Louis, a crowd and a little light will not scare him away to get what is his.
“That was so… ill”
What Rare Breed Entertainment did that night was amazing. A full list of battles that could be watched at any time and only three battle has been released. ARP and his team are moving very fast, as it has only been two years since their commencement. As for what is next for them has yet to be seen but be on the look out for Showoff vs ill Will to be the next battle dropped off of Blood Sweat & Tiers 2. Keep up the great work fellas.
