It seems just yesterday the Wizards brought in Rasual Butler for a workout and many fans wondering exactly who he was. On that day, the Wizards also worked out Xavier Silas, Vander Blue, Jamaal Franklin, and Damion James, and Butler’s future in Washington seemed like it was going to be nonexistent.
Whatever the Wizards saw in Butler was definitely not what they expected from the journeyman. He made a mark in his workout to become the last guy to make the Wizards roster, and ended up playing a significant role in getting the Wizards to where they ended up this season.
Rasual Butler wants to be back in Washington for next season if an opportunity presents itself. A signing would make sense as long as the Wizards have an open roster spot and can give him another contract worth the veteran’s minimum. The salary isn’t the reason why Butler will or will not be in a Wizards uniform next season, so both he and the Wizards need to make sure a return will make sense based on playing time.
Following From Washington Post.
“This is a great group of guys, great organization, great coaching staff. I absolutely would love to be back.”
Well Rasual, I’m sure if you want to be back, you will be welcomed back by both the team and community. The role you filled this season was unexpected, but next, it will be a necessity. With a potential departure of Paul Pierce, there may be some more playing time headed your way, and your revitalized career could reach another peak.
