Rashard Lewis didn’t necessarily have the biggest role with Miami, but he certainly showed that he can step in when needed to provide some scoring. In Miami last season he played 60 games, but helped in some spots when Wade was sitting out with the lingering knee issues and in the playoffs as well Lewis started to get a larger role. With Dallas adding Lewis they have an intriguing array of outside shooters with Monta Ellis, Chandler Parsons, Lewis, and of course Dirk Nowitzki.
Lewis’s best days are behind him obviously at the age of 34, but Rick Carlisle is one NBA coach that gets the absolute most out of his players. He puts them in the position to succeed and I think Lewis will provide more in Dallas then he did in Miami, and that will be mainly due to consistent minutes. Carlisle has shown that he adds veteran players and helps them succeed. Lewis’s deal in Dallas is for one year and terms have not been disclosed.
