The Raptors failed their attempt to get LaMarcus Aldridge. Instead they let him go to San Antonio (Thank you to all teams that tried to get him and failed, thanks for getting my hopes up.)
With the news coming out a couple of hours ago, all the teams in the running needed to go to plan B (except Portland and Phoenix, they’re done until the end of time) For Toronto, plan B is roster filling. And according to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports. One such player to help them out is Bismack Biyombo.
Free-agent center Bismack Biyombo has agreed to a two-year, $6 million contract with the Toronto Raptors, league sources told Yahoo Sports.
Biyombo joins forward DeMarre Carroll as the second free agent to agree to a deal with the Raptors this week. Together, Biyombo and Carroll – who agreed to a four-year, $64 million deal – are expected to play a part in reshaping the Raptors’ defense next season.
Toronto general manager Masai Ujiri and coach Dwane Casey want a tougher, more physical roster.
And a tougher roster they receive. Biyombo is a good defender that’s not afraid to put the paws on somebody, in time he should be able to become a more forceful rebounder and a prominent blocker.
