It has been a sad weekend in the music world after the loss of sound engineer Seth Firkins. Firkins, who has worked in Atlanta’s hip-hop scene for years, passed away on September 23.
While most of his work is with some of Atlanta’s hottest rappers, the late engineer’s work is also credited on Jay-Z’s ‘American Gangster’ album. He has also worked with Ciara, Rihanna, and Trina.
In 2012, Firkins helped Future with his Pluto 3D album. After working together, the two grew close and after the news of his passing, Future shared a touching post on Instagram.

While Future sent his respects, other rappers who have worked with Firkins shared their grief via social media. Hip-hop producers and engineers like Mike WiLL Made-It and Alex Tumay paid their respects as well.
Seth Firkins was a legend. The music world is going to sound much worse without him. Rest easy ??
