Cooper Kupp has been an important piece in the success of the Los Angeles Rams over the last two seasons. The wideout who spent four years Eastern Washington debuted with a solid rookie campaign and hoped to follow that up in year two under Sean McVay. Unfortunately for him and the Rams, Kupp’s season ends just as we we nearing the home stretch.
Cooper Kupp went down with a knee injury in the Rams home win on Sunday over the Seattle Seahawks. It didn’t look good right away and everyone feared for the worst once he did leave the game.
Adam Schefter of ESPN and Ian Rapoport of NFL Network have the details.
To no one's surprise, Rams' WR Cooper Kupp tore his ACL and is out for the season, per source.

From @gmfb: The #Rams have likely lost WR Cooper Kupp for the rest of the season with an ACL tear. That's the initial diagnosis heading into the MRI. pic.twitter.com/AyXOPJGtfl

Kupp was putting together a solid second season with the Rams as their second or sometimes third wide receiver option in the offense. He registered 40 catches for 566 yards, both behind Robert Woods and lead option Brandin Cooks, but led the team in receiving touchdowns. His reliability as a bonafide third option, leading the team in catch percentage among wide receivers and tight ends, puts a little damper in a Rams offense that is scary when they’re connecting on all fronts.
Jalen Reynolds immediately should be the man to look at as the replacement for Kupp with Tyler Higbee and Gerald Everett as potential breakout candidates just in case Reynolds does not start to workout.
In the two games Kupp missed earlier this year, Josh Reynolds played on 120-of-129 snaps. Brutal 10.3% target share though. https://t.co/fCI2OO6D6V
