As the trade deadline was approaching, the Wizards agreed on a deal with the Sacramento Kings to send Ramon Sessions to the Wizards, and reunite Andre Miller with former Nuggets head coach George Karl. Sessions came in and did not receive much time right away, but was eventually able to turn into a player Randy Wittman could rely on in clutch moments.
The trade seemed to please both the Wizards and Sessions, and he vocalized how happy he was to be in Washington. If he is truly happy wearing the red, white, and blue, maybe he will choose to return to DC for next season.
“It was an honor to be traded here honestly.”
Sessions was relied on heavily when John Wall got injured in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals against the Hawks, and he ended up starting 3 games in a row before Wall was ready to come back. In Game 2 against the Hawks, Sessions had his best game of the season as he scored 21 points on 8/14 shooting, dished out 4 assists, grabbed 3 rebounds, along with a steal.
Throughout his career, Sessions has many times been believed to be a missing piece, which has led to him being on 7 different teams during his 8 seasons in the league. Being an unrestricted free agent, Sessions now controls his own destiny, but him being back in Washington to back up John Wall next season could be a huge plus.
