Following R. Kelly’s late-night arrest July 11 on federal charges, his publicist held a press conference met with anger from the family of an alleged victim, Joycelyn Savage.
The press conference took place in Atlanta, Georgia. R. Kelly’s spokesperson Darrell Johnson attempted to use the platform to provide clarity on the singer’s arrest. Taken in on federal charges, some of the crowd came with their own questions.
Timothy Savage, father of Joycelyn Savage interrupted the press conference, demanding answers on his daughter’s location. In video footage provided by NBC New York, Timothy Savage, is seen parading to the front, pass press, asking directly “Where is my daughter at?”.
After the airing of Surviving R. Kelly, Joycelyn Savage, and Azriel Clary both alleged victims of R. Kelly appeared on television claiming the documentary displayed false information. Their interview with Gayle King followed R. Kelly’s where all three parties consistently denied allegations through tearful, strategic conversation.
Currently, R. Kelly remains behind bars on a 13-count indictment including charges of child pornography, obstruction of justice and enticement of a minor.
