R. Kelly faces 11 new felony counts of sexual assault and abuse charges in Chicago.
The R&B singer finds himself back in front of a judge following the addition of the new charges. R. Kelly faces four counts of aggravated criminal sexual assault, two counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse, two counts of criminal sexual assault by force and three counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse against an alleged 13-16 year old victim.
NPR reports if R. Kelly is convicted, he faces six to 30 years on each charge. For decades allegations surrounding R. Kelly and his predatory behavior circled yet the singer never faced charges of this magnitude. R. Kelly adamantly denies all claims.
In January 2019, Surviving R. Kelly broke Lifetime rating records, as the world tuned in to alleged victims, friends, family and survivors telling their story of life with R. Kelly. These new charges are an extension of the initial February charges following the airing of the docu-series. R. Kelly’s attorney Steve Greenberg is confident he and his client will come out victorious.
#RKelly These are the same conduct, just charged differently, same alleged victim, same time frame, same facts. We expect the same results
