
R. Kelly currently remains in custody in Chicago, held without bail on federal charges, however, the disgraced R&B singer now faces transfer to New York for racketeering charges.
Reported by Chicago Tribune, R. Kelly for arraignment on sweeping racketeering charges with claims Kelly systematically recruited young girls for sexual abuse using his nationwide concerts as a hunting ground. The singer and songwriter will be transferred from one facility to another by US Air Marshalls.
The Brooklyn hearing takes place on August 2 and Kelly then makes his way back to Chicago for a September 4 status hearing in his hometown.
The 13-count indictment claims Kelly and former employees, Milton “June” Brown and Derrel McDavid all conspired to fix the 2008 child pornography child by paying off witness and victims among other actions. Both have pleaded not guilty.
