It’s 2015 and Diddy, a.k.a Puff Daddy, continues to flex his muscles not only with music, but on the business side of things. After a more than welcomed and praised performance at this year’s BET Awards, Diddy went forth to debut his new single, ‘Finna Get Loose,’ and notified the world that he was working on a brand new album that would be due out in the coming months. It looks like Diddy isn’t all talk and means business as it was announced this morning that Diddy and his Bad Boy label has signed a distribution deal with LA Reid’s Epic Records.
Bad Boy Entertainment has inked an exclusive partnership with Epic Records, that includes distribution of two highly-anticipated upcoming albums from Grammy award-winning artist, producer, entrepreneur Sean “Diddy” Combs aka Puff Daddy. The deal was announced today by LA Reid, Chairman and CEO, Epic Records, a division of Sony Music Entertainment. In celebration of the signing, Puff Daddy will perform new music at this week’s BET Hip-Hop Awards in Atlanta.
What comes as even better news is that the deal is not only exclusive to Diddy but also includes some current & future artists with Bad Boy. Epic Records will find themselves handling all aspects of the marketing process such as promotion and distribution for Diddy and others on the Bad Boy label. From Revolt TV to Ciroc and now signing on for 2 new albums, Diddy is a busy man these days. Furthermore, it shows just another method of just how business savvy the Hip-Hop mogul is. In a year filled with more than enough Hip-Hop to go around, Puff Daddy is more than welcomed to jump in the ring.
