With the college basketball season winding down, NBA teams and scouts will get their last chance to watch potential NBA prospects before the draft combine. One potential prospect teams will have an eye on will be the 18-year old freshman point guard Markelle Fultz from Washington University.
Fultz has put together a great season for the Huskies and is the nation’s fifth-leading scorer with 23.2 points per game while also shooting 47.6 percent from the field. Although the Huskies have a lackluster nine victories this year, Fultz’s overall talent and impact are not indicative of their record this season.
However, Fultz hasn’t definitively said he’d be declaring for the draft just yet, but being the top rated NBA prospect in this year’s draft has many believing he’ll leave. One thing that is clear is the confidence Fultz has in his own abilities and his aspirations for the future.
Following from to Jason King of Bleacher Report.
“When I was younger, trying to make the make the freshman and JV team, my dream was always to make it to the NBA,” Fultz tells B/R Mag. “At first, I was thinking about just getting to the NBA, just watching the NBA, being one of the All-Stars in the NBA.
“But I actually want to be the best to ever play this game. And I think I have a pretty good chance to do that.
It’s clear Fultz doesn’t lack any confidence in himself and if he does choose to declare for the NBA Draft, a team will be getting a great talent to build their team around.
