This past weekend season 4 of ‘Power’ debuted on Starz. ‘Power’ is one of premium cables preeminent powerhouses. With Season 4’s debut, Power extended its reach even further. The debut marked a new record for Starz in regard to its streaming platform with ‘Power‘ shattering the apps previous subscription sign up record by more than 150%. The app allows non-cable users the ability to subscribe to the service for roughly the same fee they would be paying through a traditional cable provider. Allowing fans of a particular show, like power, to have access to it without having to shell out lots of extra money to the cable companies for channels they don’t watch. The rise of on-demand and app viewing is nothing particularly new but this past weekend ‘Power‘ showed just how crucial it will be moving forward. Seeing as the traditional viewing numbers dipped by about 26% for the Season 4 debut. This would normally be a cause for concern but with the reach of ‘Power‘ seemingly transitioning online, the network should be thoroughly pleased with the debut.
