Glenn Close and Billy Porter will reportedly appear in Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping. Close is expected to play Drusilla Sickle, and Porter will play the role of Sickle’s estranged husband, Magno Stift. Close and Porter join a cast that already includes Kieran Culkin, Jesse Plemons, Kelvin Harrison Jr., Whitney Peak, Mckenna Grace, Maya Hawke, Lili Taylor, Ben Wang, Ralph Fiennes, and Elle Fanning.
“Glenn Close is a dream Drusilla. She brings so much of her intellect and imagination to each role, creating characters who are unforgettable and iconic,” Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping Producer Nina Jacobson said. “Billy is one of those rare performers who can dazzle and devastate in equal measure on stage and screen. He made an indelible impression on me when we worked together on ‘Pose,’ both as an actor and a human being.”
Written by Suzanne Collins and Billy Ray, Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping “explores Panem 24 years before Katniss’ saga, starting on the morning of the reaping for the 50th Hunger Games, where a young Haymitch Abernathy participates.” The Francis Lawrence-directed film will arrive in theaters on November 20, 2026. Filming is expected to begin in July.
