Law enforcement investigating the murder of Pop Smoke believe the rapper was targeted. The Los Angeles Times reports, recently, homes in Los Angeles have been aimed at, especially those rented to musicians. The property where Pop Smoke resided during his stay in Los Angeles is owned by Teddi Mellencamp of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and managed by a third-party company.

ORIGINAL STORY: Rapper Pop Smoke reportedly shot dead during a California home invasion.
According to TMZ, the rapper, born Bashar Barakah Jackson was gunned down during a home invasion during the early morning on February 19, 2020. Their report details how Pop Smoke’s California residence was a target of robbery by two masked men who broke in, firing multiple shots. The gunmen were reportedly seen fleeing on foot.
Pop Smoke was swiftly rising to the forefront of mainstream hip-hop with his signature Brooklyn Drill style. He recently released “Meet The Woo 2” and was gearing up to widen his fanbase on the “Meet The Woo” tour. His breakout hit “Welcome To The Party” received a remix featuring fellow New York rapper Nicki Minaj. During his brief career, Pop Smoke also collaborated with other stars such as Travis Scott making his first appearance on Billboard charts with a feature on JACKBOYS.
