PJ Tucker is frustrated with the Houston Rockets. The former second-round pick in the 2006 NBA Draft has been waiting for moves to be made regarding his playing destination. The Rockets have been having discussions regarding Tucker’s future with other teams. However, in the veteran player’s eyes, it hasn’t gone quick enough.
With nine years of experience in the league, Tucker is no stranger to switching teams. This situation has made him sit out games while healthy and the Rockets have another player to move this season. Over the last year, there may not be another team that has changed as much as Houston. They signed and released players like DeMarcus Cousins, traded James Harden, brought in Christian Wood who has budded into a star. Their next obligation is to Tucker.
For the foreseeable future, it is doubtful that Tucker will play for Houston before the trade deadline. Last night, he sat out their game against the Sacramento Kings. Head coach Stephen Silas had this to say on the matter:
“We’re going to try ot figure out something that works for him and works for us as far as him not being on the team anymore. I was under the assumption that he was going to play tonight and he didn’t play. That was disappointing. “
Soon after the game was over, it was reported by The Athletic’s Shams Charania that tucker will no longer be with the team anymore as they work to find a resolution.
PJ Tucker and the Rockets agreed he will no longer be with the team anymore and are working to find a resolution, coach Stephen Silas says tonight.

Tucker appeared in 32 games this season with the Rockets. He averaged 4.4 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 1.4 assists in 30 minutes a game. His career averages are 7.2 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 1.4 assists a game in just under 30 minutes a game. Tucker’s real hope is to be traded to a title contender where he can provide a defensive presence as well as be a veteran voice in a locker room. There will surely be a contender that makes a move for his services.
