Donatas Motiejunas has only played 18 games this season for the Houston Rockets. With one season remaining on his deal, this season was supposed to be a big one for D-Mo as he was going to hit the free agency market this summer as a stretch-four who could also play in the post. His value was high but there was a concern about his health.
A back injury derailed his season last year and apparently that same back injury will hurt Motiejunas once again.
At the trade deadline the Houston Rockets, Detroit Pistons and Philadelphia 76ers worked on a deal that would send Donatas Motiejunas and Marcus Thornton to the Pistons, Joel Anthony would go to the Philadelphia 76ers along with a second round pick and the Houston Rockets would get picks and assets.
Now the trade is going to be voided by the Pistons and the NBA after Motiejunas has failed to pass a physical after the Pistons asked for an extension to further examine him.
