The Sixers injury woes carry on. With Embiid and Michael Carter-Williams out. CSNPhilly are now reporting that veteran Jason Richardson is now out with a stress fracture in his right foot.
Richardson is working his way back from a left knee injury. He underwent surgery in February of 2013.
Somehow in the process, Richardson suffered a stress fracture in his right foot.
“He is busting his tail to get back in shape and play again,” Brown said. “He is not going down easy. He is not going to retire easily. He continues to work, to try and get ready. It is a setback.“
Setback indeed. With a young squad like the Philadelphia 76’ers. Veterans are much needed.
He has one year left on his contract with the Sixers. Considering that he had knee surgery back in February 2013, I question how much fuel is left in JRich’s tank.
Kurt Helin of ProBasketballTalk thinks that it’s pretty much over.
The reality is a couple days ago Brown said “it will be a challenge” for Richardson to play at all this season.
Draw your own conclusions. But at 33 it seems we may have seen the last of Richardson on an NBA court (he is in the final year of his contract).
Is the writing on the wall for Jason Richardson? Philadelphia would probably say yes.
