Pharrell Williams has teamed up Verizon to launch a music education program.
According to Billboard, Verizon announced their partnership with Williams on Friday. The launch is a “tech-infused music curriculum in nationwide Verizon Innovative Learning schools.”
The music education program will provide students with free technology, internet access, and a technology-focused curriculum. It will serve Virginia Beach middle schools with insufficient resources.
In addition, the partnership includes “the building of a Verizon Innovative Learning Lab, which will feature cutting-edge technology such as augmented reality, virtual reality, robotics, and machine learning.”
Pharrell Williams told Billboard in an interview last year about the importance of giving children access and how impactful art can be. He said, “I want all children to have access to that kind of creative growth, access, and support. All kids, not just my own.”
