Things just got a little more interesting.
On Wednesday, July 9, 2025, more than a dozen world champions, Olympians, and contenders made their way to the stage at the Theater at Madison Square Garden as Ariel Helwani hosted the final press conference before the biggest night in women’s boxing thus far. With 17 world titles up for grabs, nothing needed to be said to get these masters of the sweet science amped up for the big night on Friday, July 11, but a little extra motivation never hurt anyone.
During the final press conference, host Ariel Helwani invited Most Valuable Promotions Co-Founder Nakisa Bidarian to the stage. Bidarian spoke extensively about the importance of the card in not only women’s boxing, but across the entire sport as well. While speaking, he also revealed that a $250,000 bonus would be awarded to the fighter who delivers the best performance of the night.
“MVP and Netflix got together and I’m pleased to announce a $250,000 performance of the night bonus that can be awarded to any fighter or any fight. The winner of the performance bonus will be determined by myself, Jake Paul, and the great Laila Ali. In a scenario where Jake, Laila and I all have a different view of who should win, Laila Ali will make the ultimate decision,” he revealed.
Taylor, Serrano, Baumgardner, and several other fighters on the card have earned sizeable checks in the past. Still, in a sport where earnings are paramount, every boxer looked around to make sure they weren’t mishearing Bidarian. With knockout punchers like Marshall, Green, Baumgardner, and Serrano on the card, they could be the frontrunners for the prize. But what if Yamileth Mercado pulls off the upset or Taylor overcomes Serrano’s power to get another win? It’ll all be decided when the long-awaited event begins later today at the world’s most famous arena.
