On Saturday The Los Angeles Lakers took another big blow in their off season that looks to be a colossal failure. The Lakers lost Power Forward/Center Pau Gasol who was a the key to their successful championship runs. Gasol rejected quite a few offers from The Lakers and one that was even reported at 2 years $10 million which is a joke for Pau. Gasol made the announcement via Twitter and seemed like a tough choice for the two time NBA champion.
The Chicago Bulls paired one of the best passing big men in the league with Joakim Noah who last year established himself as an excellent passer in the league as well. Gasol gives Chicago an excellent front court tandem of Gasol and Noah then Taj Gibson off the bench. Coach Thibodeau should be able to get creative with this move as well since Gasol can knock down the 15 foot jumper at will and he can post up on the inside too.
At the age of 33 Pau showed he certainly had plenty left in the tank averaging 17 PPG and 9 REB. The Chicago Bulls may have not gotten Carmelo Anthony, but Gasol certainly is a huge move for them. If Derrick Rose is healthy The Bulls will certainly be a scary team with the addition of Gasol. As of right now Gasol just reached an agreement with the team, and no contract terms have been announced.
