The San Antonio Spurs have been without former All-Star big man Pau Gasol since the end of January. Gasol suffered a fractured hand during warmups. Since his surgery, the Spurs have been silent about a timetable for Pau’s return. They gave no definite date of return.
Now it appears that Pau will be gracing the court for the Spurs tonight for their matchup with the Los Angeles Clippers, which also marks the return of Chris Paul to the Los Angeles lineup.
ESPN’s J.A. Adande reports that Gregg Popovich confirmed that Pau Gasol would return tonight after missing about five weeks due to his injury.

Before going down with his hand injury, the Spanish big man played 39 games and was averaging a career-low 11.7 points per game, 7.9 rebounds and 2.4 assists on the season. His reduced role can be heavily attributed to both his age and his pecking order in the Spurs offense behind Kawhi Leonard and LaMarcus Aldridge.
The Spurs take on the Clippers tonight on ESPN. Tonight’s matchup comes one night off of the Clippers getting decimated by the Golden State Warriors in Oakland.
