Dr. Walter Lowe told ESPN that Beverley has had a “remarkable” recovery after undergoing season-ending surgery on Nov. 22. Beverley was expected to be out for 9 months before being cleared to play basketball again. He managed to fully recover Thursday, which meant he is three months ahead of schedule.
“I saw Pat [Thursday] and ordered a new MRI approximately six months out from his microfracture biocartilage repair and lateral meniscus repair,” Lowe said. “His recovery has been remarkable and I have cleared him to return to all basketball activities. This speedy recovery is a testament to Pat’s diligence to the comprehensive rehabilitation program between Houston and LA.”
Beverley appeared in only 11 games during the 2017-18 season. During the 11 games, he averaged 12.2 points, 4.1 rebounds and 2.9 assists per game. The 29-year-old played his first five NBA seasons with the Rockets before he was traded last summer. The Clippers acquired Beverley as part of June’s trade with Houston for Chris Paul.
