Now that the 2022 NBA Trade Deadline has passed some teams will look to agree to extensions with some of their roster members. The Minnesota Timberwolves and point guard Patrick Beverley have agreed to a one-year contract extension worth $13 million. He was set to be a free agent after this season, but will now be under contract through the 2022-2023 season. Some expected Minnesota to trade the guard after acquiring him, but for now, they like the way he fits on their roster coming off the bench.
Beverley had been in the final year of his contract and now gets a new deal through the 2022-2023 season. He’s made a significant impact for the Timberwolves on and off the floor upon arriving in offseason trade. Minnesota (30-27) is seventh in the West now. https://t.co/BzgcNHXMCC

Minnesota hopes to make the 2022 NBA Playoffs and build up a long-term winning formula with their core players. While Patrick Beverley isn’t a core player, he has been a key rotation player for the team this season. With a 30-27 record currently, the Minnesota Timberwolves are the 7th seed in the Western Conference.

While with the Minnesota Timberwolves this season Patrick Beverley is averaging nine points, 4.4 rebounds, 4.9 assists, and 1.1 steals per game. He is also a veteran guard that has plenty of playoff experience. That will be an invaluable addition to a team with some younger players that have limited or no experience in the NBA Playoffs. Now that the team and Beverley have agreed on an extension the team can look forward. The goal now is to try and improve their seeding and get ready for the 2022 NBA Playoffs.
