‘Is There Sex In The City?’. No I’m not asking, that is literally what the name of the follow-up book is by original ‘Sex & The City’ author Candace Bushnell which will release on August 6th and then immediately be developed into a TV series by Paramount.
The new book take a look at sex, dating, and friendship in New York City after 50. Set between the Upper East Side of Manhattan and a country enclave known as The Village, the book looks at love and life, marriage and children, divorce and bereavement, as well as the very real pressures on women to maintain their youth and have it all. Bushnell will write the pilot script and serve as an executive producer on the project, along with Liza Chasin from 3dot Productions and Robyn Meisinger from Anonymous Content.
The first ‘Sex & The City’ show first released in 1998 and saw 6 seasons and even had 3 follow-up films, so the success is there to warrant a sequel series to the franchise. There is no news on when production would begin or who they are considering to cast but with the book releasing in August, they have plenty of time to figure that out.
