There isn’t much that Paramore hasn’t accomplished over the last 19 years. Since forming in 2004, the band has toured the world, topped the charts and left a remarkable impact on music. Through it all, the band went through its ups and downs as many bands do in their rise to success. After releasing five albums in a little over a decade, Paramore made the decision to take a break from music.
“I think the fact that it might have felt or seemed natural is because it was just what we needed and it’s just where we were at, in a very genuine way. I think I’ve said this before, you can’t strategize those things, you really can’t,” the band told Zane Lowe about their break.
“Being in a band and doing all the things we do, you have to plan out years in advance and that’s not how life works. So when you finally decide to tune more into your real life or who’s happening in you behind the scenes, I think you just can’t strategize it. So it was just naturally a very insular place for a little while.”
Paramore took nearly six years away from releasing new music and returned in late 2022 with a refreshed sound, tour dates and much more. Tonight, their new era kicks off in a major way with the release of their studio album since 2017. In a concise ten-part LP, This Is Why re-introduces the band to its loyal fan base and ushers them into the ears of new listeners. check out the album below.
