The journey of the Pogues is not finished. Deadline has reported that Netflix renewed Outer Banks for a third season. Key cast members Madelyn Cline, Chase Stokes, Madison Bailey, Rudy Pankow and Jonathan Davis are expected to return. Also, Carlacia Grant is expected to upgrade to a regular role. Behind the scenes, show creators Jonas Pate, Josh Pate and Shannon Burke will develop the season’s storyline and direction.
The announcement comes a few months after season two hit Netflix. Cline, Stokes, Bailey and company remained atop “Netflix’s Top 10 TV” chart for four weeks after its release. The show has also gone on to earn five People’s Choice Awards nomination and a MTV Movie & TV Award nominations.
Moving into season three, Jon B, Sarah Cameron, Kie, Pope, JJ and Cleo will look to find their way home after a nearly fatal battle with Ward and Rafe Cameron. Also, Jon B will have to deal with a number of demons when he eventually uncovers a family secret. Not to mention, Pop aims to regain what is rightfully owed to his ancestors.
A release date has not been set for season three of Outer Banks.
