Having Otto Porter ready to score off the bench has been a huge plus for the Wizards this postseason, and has given Washington an extra factor they did not have last season. With Porter able to come off the bench and make an immediate impact, the Wizards now have a reliable scorer when the starters are in need of some rest. He has given the Wizards an unexpected boost that will help them in close games similar to the Game 3 victory.
Otto finished Game 3 with 17 points on 7/15 shooting, 9 rebounds, 4 assists, and 1 steal in 39 minutes of play. When Paul Pierce went down early, it was important for Porter to step in and get to work right away. Now that Porter has been battle-tested, he will be relied on more heavily throughout the rest of the postseason, and will be expected to perform at the highest level possible whenever he is called upon.
