Otto Porter once again performed admirably off the bench against the Toronto Raptors as he scored 11 points, grabbed 8 rebounds, stole the ball 2 times, assisted on 2 other shots, and recorded a block. Last year, a performance like this would have never come from Porter, but this year, this type of performance is now expected out of the second-year small forward from Georgetown.
The addition of Paul Pierce in Washington was the greatest thing to ever happen to Otto Porter. Pierce has taken Porter under his wing, and has taught him how to be the player he was projected to be when Washington took him with the third overall pick in the 2013 NBA Draft. Pierce picks up Porter when he messes up, and even throughout the playoffs, Porter has been correcting Pierce on certain plays. The relationship is creating Porter into a playoff who will be a major part of Washington’s future plans.
