OKC Agrees To Deal With Anthony Morrow
The Oklahoma City Thunder have agreed to a three-year, $10 million deal with New Orleans Pelicans free agent Anthony Morrow, with a team option on the third year, ESPN reports.
The 28-year-old averaged 8.4 points and shot 45.1 percent from the three-point line this past season. Oklahoma City will be his sixth team in seven seasons. He also drew interest from the Heat, Clippers, and Pelicans.
The Thunder lost Thabo Sefolosha to the Atlanta Hawks in free agency this summer, but Morrow brings an outside shooting component that’s completely opposite to what Sefolosha brought to the team. Oklahoma City needs more capable shooting to space the floor and keep defenses honest outside of Westbrook and Durant, and Morrow could certainly contribute to filling that void as a rotation shooter.
