
For most of her career, Octavia Spencer has been known for her roles in films such as The Help, Hidden Figures and Fruitvale Station. In these roles, Spencer earned acclaim for her screen presence and emotionally engaging performances. Still, Spencer sought to be more than her roles in those three films. More recently, Spencer has ventured into the worlds of thrillers and horror films. This summer, Spencer stars in the horror film, Ma. In addition, she will also be starring the upcoming psychological thriller, Luce. This week, we got the first trailer for the upcoming film.
Neon has released the first trailer for the Octavia Spencer and Naomi Watts’ psychological thriller, Luce. As described, “An all-star high school athlete and accomplished debater, Luce is a poster boy for the new American Dream. As are his parents, who adopted him from a war-torn country a decade earlier.” In a twist, “When Luce’s teacher makes a shocking discovery in his locker, Luce’s stellar reputation is called into question. But is he really at fault, or is Ms. Wilson preying on dangerous stereotypes?”
