The North Carolina Tar Heels are fresh off of a huge title win over the Gonzaga Bulldogs, but for the past seven years, the Tar Heel faithful have had something more ominous and foreboding looming over their heads. The NCAA was set to announce the final list of violations but was delayed a week until Friday, October the 13th.
It has been a long and antagonizing seven years for the North Carolina Tar Heels. Fans and personal alike seemed to have little faith that the programs in Chapel Hill wouldn’t get completely railroaded. The NCAA released its final report and stated that they “could not conclude academic violations for the football or basketball programs”. This comes as a major but pleasant shock for the Tar Heel fans and faculty.
This news comes on the same night that the Tar Heels’ basketball team is hosting their annual opening practice, Late Night with Roy. The crowd will likely be even more excited tonight after this news to pair with officials in Chapel Hill set to raise the 2017 championship banner. The Tar Heels have a lot to be thrilled about after a brand new championship banner and this amazing news from the NCAA.
What are those??? ?

Roy Williams has faced much criticism these past seven years due to this investigation, and a perceived lack of championship caliber roster decisions made by Coach Williams. The North Carolina native finds himself being vindicated once again in the same year. People have also speculated how this scandal has affected the Tar Heels in the recruiting world and now that may finally start to lighten up. The Tar Heels won a title without “top talent” so what happens when Coach Wiliams starts pulling in those guys as well?
